Launcher-II is a new product, performing load balancing on Tandem systems.
It is easy to install, and it works with a good accuracy when searching for the 'least busy CPU' to be used for a new process.

The following features are supported on a program file and process name basis:

• wildcard support for program file and process names
• the attribute check order is configurable (program file first, process name first)
• three check modes are available(never, take supplied CPU, always)
• a CPU mask, defining those CPUs, available for the process in question, is supported
• five optimization methods are available
• priority borders (min, max) direct ?heavy load programs, such as PAK, or compilers, directly to a low priority without a user interaction
• processes may automatically get a name (normal, short, long)

The list above is executed according to the MCO (most complete) values: Fully qualified file names are searched first, file names with wildcards are searched last.

LAUNCHER-II is small, and very efficient.
