PWCrypt

Title: PWCrypt Version: 201
  Last Change: 28.11.2003 15:52
Author: Carl Weber Mail: carl.weber(at)greenhouse(dot)de

Short Description: Encodes system user passwords (GUARDIAN as well as Alias user)

Description:

PWCrypt has to be used on a system, when first enforcing the encoded
storage of user passwords:
Switching the encode (crypt) feature on in the PASSWORD program, or
SAFEGUARD, does NOT automatically encode existing passwords!
This missing function is closed by this tool.

PWCrypt encodes GUARDIAN as well as Alias user passwords, using the
original password encryption schema.

To run it, proceed as follows:

  1. Logon to SUPER.SUPER
PWCrypt has to be run with the SUPER-ID, because it has to access
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.USERID as well as $SYSTEM.SAFE.LUSERID directly.
  2. Run PWCrypt with the command: [run] PWCRYPT
  3. Lean back, and relax while the task is performed (this will take only a few seconds).
  4. Relogon to your own ID.

For detail information please read the documentation.
